Event Description

Come join the Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association as we celebrate our 49th season with our Spring Production of "Once Upon a Time" and "Paquita".  Performing will be local dancers ages 5 through adult who are members of the ORCBA and Ashleyanne Hensley and Noel Dupuis from the Georgia Ballet Company.

The show is in two acts.  The first act is “Once Upon a Time” and features the stories of Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel.  The second act is the ballet “Paquita”.   Paquita was “First presented by at the Salle Le Peletier by the Paris Opera Ballet on 1 April 1846. The work was retained in the repertory of the Opéra until 1851.”

This is one of two shows on Saturday April 13, at 2pm and 7pm at the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts center.  Tickets are available at the door.  Adults are $20, Seniors $15, Students $10.  It is a great chance to see and support the ballet.

The ORCBA holds open auditions for all of its shows and finds a part for each person depending on their dance skills.  Come check out the show with your kids and see if you would like to be part of a Ballet productions.  We will hold rehearsals for our 50th Season production of the Nutcracker in August with the show in November of 2013.

See you there!

Rob

I have been to the museum in Branson.  It was very cool.  My husband and I spent 3 hours there.  We could have stayed longer but it was the last day of our trip and we had to head home.  I would love to see the museum in Pigeon Forge to see the similarities and also the differences.  What artifacts they have that weren't in Branson.  I can't belive it has been 100 years since that terrible night.  I know it was a tragic thing.  But I…
