DESCRIPTION:The Tennessee Theatre celebrates arts in Knoxville with a 
 Spring Open House on Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., which
  will include backstage tours, Wurlitzer organ music and an opportunit
 y to learn about and support the marquee refurbishment campaign.   \
 n Spring traditionally has been a time in Knoxville to celebrate and 
 promote the arts with Dogwood Arts and music festivals. The Tennessee 
 Theatre is joining in that spirit and welcoming guests to enjoy the hi
 storic venue for free.\n Attendees at the open house can take self-gu
 ided tours of backstage areas. Theater historians and staff members wi
 ll be available to answer questions and provide information on the his
 tory of the marquee and the campaign to refurbish and upgrade the sign
  with 5,700 new brighter, energy-efficient light bulbs.\n Several com
 memorative items will be on sale to support the marquee refurbishment,
  including a handcrafted blade sign ornament, fine art prints of the T
 ennessee Theatre marquee and the opportunity to sponsor a bulb or lett
 er in the marquee.\n Doors open at 11 a.m., and the event is open to
