I loved the books, literally devouring the series in 3 days and then forcing several of my friends to read them too. Tonight it opens and we are going at midnight. It is so far past my bedtime, but it opened on spring break week so I don't have to get up early to take the kids to school so we figured... what the heck, lets pretend we aren't old ladies with children for one night. :)

Have you read the books? Are you planning on seeing the movies?

I read them all in about three or four days, too.  I loved Peeta's character so much that I could hardly stand to read certain parts of the series (no spoilers, I promise).  I cannot WAIT to see the movie.  I will probably end up going by myself some day this weekend since no one else I'm close to here has read it.

I love Peeta too! Not thrilled with the casting of him, he seems much smaller than he was in my head, but I am hoping it will work in the movie. Gail and Rue are pretty spot on. I can't wait to see Rue, I have heard amazing things about her performance!

I agree about Peeta.  I'm going to wait to make a judgement though until I've seen how he acts.  I also pictured someone at least Katniss' size and probably bigger.  I think they are the same height in real life, but for some reason, he just looks smaller.  He has a cute face though.  Ah, the boy with the bread.

They did a really good job on making him look bigger than he is. I was really surprised how I forgot he was little during the movie, especially since it bugged me so much beforehand. The boy with the bread worked very nice. They did a really good job of sticking close to the book. I think you will like it!

If my daughter will read the book this week, I'll take her to see it this weekend. I have only read the first one, but I'm on the list to get the others from the library. I reserved them before, but they all arrived out of order.

Mom's Guide to Gardening in Knoxville: Plants That Thrive in Our Climate

After 10 years of gardening in Knoxville, I've learned a thing or two about what works and what doesn't in our unique East Tennessee climate. Between our humid summers, occasionally harsh winters, and those unpredictable spring frosts that seem to come just when you've convinced yourself it's safe to plant—gardening here can be a challenge! But it's also incredibly rewarding.
