So, we went to Cedar Bluff today for their K roundup. I was really disappointed. I picked up a packet (that apparently I should have probably already picked up) and all it was really was 'registration.' There were 3 K classrooms you could 'visit' (which to say something positive I LOVED all 3 of them) but only 1 of the 3 teachers is even planning on being a K teacher there in the Fall.
I don't know. I am so unhappy about the full day being implemented at the last minute (I never put my DD in preschool since K was only a half day) and I was hoping this would ease some of my fears.
Anyone want to be my cheerleader on this?? I could use some positive right now about my school zone.

Aww, I am sorry you didn't have a great experience with registration. That's pretty much how it went for us too when we registered but I had already been advised on what would go on, so I wasn't surprised. Some schools go a little more in depth with their round up process but most of them are like this. I know Cedar Bluff is a big school but I think once you and your DD get settled in, you will love it. James did really well in K and is positively flourishing in 1st. It makes me really sad to think we aren't going to be there next year. As for picking up the packet, I don't think they have been available that long. I think a lot of parents first get theirs on round up night.
Thanks for the positive :) I talked to 3 teachers and liked them all. The only issue was one was retiring and the other was transferring to Sequoyah Elementary for the Fall. This morning at ballet another mom was telling me about Karns round up and how they went to a 'meet and greet' last week to find out info and then today the kids were getting passports where they went to classrooms and got stamped and the library and cafeteria, etc. So I was disappointed when we showed up and all we did was pick up a registration packet (which apparently most people already knew to pick up and fill out). I don't know. It was so big and industrial and impersonal and I'm still sad about full days...but need to focus on the good instead of the bad right?? !!!!

I would love to visit the Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge. I have been to the museum in Branson. It was very cool. My husband and I spent 3 hours there. We could have stayed longer but it was the last day of our trip and we had to head home. I would love to see the museum in Pigeon Forge to see the similarities and also the differences. What artifacts they have that weren't in Branson. I can't belive it has been 100 years since that terrible night. I know it was a tragic thing. But I…
