The WordPlayers Brings Theatre Back to The Bijou Theatre!
The Secret Garden will be presented July 18-20 on the U.S. Cellular Stage at The Bijou, 803 S. Gay St. Tickets range from $11.50-$21.50 and may be purchased online at www.wordplayers.org, knoxbijou.com, at the ticket office located at 224 Clinch, or by calling 865.684.1200.
The Secret Garden, winner of three Tony Awards, is based on the enchanting novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, who was living in the Knoxville area when she wrote it. The story centers on Mary Lennox, a young girl orphaned in India and sent to Yorkshire, England, to live with her reclusive uncle and his invalid son. Mary is angry and obstinate but when she encounters a neglected garden and its secrets gradually come to light, both Mary and the garden begin to bloom. With music by Lucy Simon, and book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Marsha Norman, The Secret Garden is a treasure for the whole family. Children and adults alike will be impacted by its themes of redemption, forgiveness, love and learning.
The WordPlayers brings together a team of highly qualified artists, many of whom were featured in the company’s 2012 production of Ragtime, including Director Leann Dickson, Music Director Jill Lagerberg, and leading actors Natalee McReynolds, Sheryl Howard, Coke Morgan, and John Cherry.

I would love to visit the Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge. I have been to the museum in Branson. It was very cool. My husband and I spent 3 hours there. We could have stayed longer but it was the last day of our trip and we had to head home. I would love to see the museum in Pigeon Forge to see the similarities and also the differences.
